Improved human & institutional capacities; increase in in profitability & market efficiency of farming in Bangladesh: The project will lead to the co-creation of cost-effective innovation bundles which will be adopted by fruits, vegetables, and fish farmers and value chain actors. Similarly, the project will lead to wider adoption of these recommendations/practices by fruits, vegetables, and fish value chain actors, leading to reduced PH and nutrition loss in Bangladesh. The project will improve the human and institutional capacities of partner institutions, including the more participatory and gender-sensitive approach for cost-effective PH research and policy formulation in the country. All these will eventually contribute to increased income for farmers and value chain actors, and improved food and nutrition security of consumers in Bangladesh. The outcome has a high scaling-up potential, as the cost-effective innovation bundle developed by this project will increase the profitability and commercialization of fruits, vegetables, and fish farming and market efficiency in Bangladesh. The cost-effective innovation bundles and IT-based business model, and recommendations will have a cascading effect on the whole value chain of fruits, vegetables, and fish, developing business opportunities at all levels of production, processing, and value addition.
All the outcomes will lead to an increase in income for both farmers and value chain actors. As the income rises, the consumption will also increase, and attaining food and nutrition security in Bangladesh The impact should be written through a survey in the third year. Increase in income, increase in consumption will reduce food insecurity.
